Brazil great Socrates on life support

''Former Brazil captain Socrates is back in the hospital and on life support, though the 57-year-old's condition has shown slight improvement since being admitted Thursday.

A hospital in Sao Paulo says Socrates is suffering from septic shock resulting from an intestinal infection, with symptoms first appearing after a Thursday stroganoff dinner, according to Brazil's Globo Esporte.

Socrates was last in the hospital in September. That was for a hemorrhage caused by high pressure in the vein that carries blood from the digestive system to the liver.

Thursday's admission marks the third time this year the Brazil icon has been hospitalized for gastrointestinal problems.''
